"Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow"


The mission of the Student Alumni Association (SAA) is to strengthen the links between past, present, and future BYU–Idaho students by:

  1. Fostering a sense of tradition and loyalty to BYU–Idaho that will motivate students to become exemplary alumni
  2. Cultivating future alumni leadership in current students
  3. Supporting the Alumni Association in their goals and activities
  4. Serving as student ambassadors who reflect the 'Spirit of Ricks' and the values of the Church at BYU–Idaho and abroad
The Student Alumni Association also supports the Student Legacy Endowment, which helps BYU–Idaho students who have unexpected financial challenges.

I-Challenge Leaders

2-3hours/week

The purpose of the I-Challenge leader is to foster a sense of tradition and loyalty to BYU-Idaho that will motivate students to be involved and prepare them to become exemplary alumni. I-challenge leaders have the special assignment of over seeing BYU-Idaho’s I-challenge. Each week leaders plan events and/or activities with small groups. Activities range from hiking “R” mountain, bowling in the Manwaring Center, going to guitars unplugged, or giving service. Indeed I-challenge leaders support all other groups as they plan weekly activities, and carry out fun weekly events.

 

Student Alumni Admins

2 hours/week

A main focus of the Student Alumni Association is to cultivate future alumni leadership in current students. Student Alumni Admins work under the direction of the Student Alumni Board of Directors in their various events and activities.

 

Board of Directors

3-5 hours/week

The Student Alumni Board of Directors is a Board of Student Directors. Director area’s are as followed; Student Legacy Endowment, LDS Philanthropies, Mentoring, Networking, Activities, Recruiting, I-challenge, and University Relation’s, Student Advancement, Social Networking, and Alumni Relations director as well as student alumni Historian, and Secretary. The student Board of Directors oversees all aspects of the Student Alumni. The Student Alumni Board of Directors also serves as student ambassadors who reflect the ‘Spirit of Ricks’ and the values of the Church at BYU-Idaho and abroad.

 

Senior Executive Board

Senior Vice President of the Board of Directors

10 hours/week

The Vice-Chairmen of the Board of Directors help manage, and direct the Board of Directors and the Student Alumni Association. BYU-Idaho SAA divides into three separate areas, Student Advancement, Student Alumni, and Student Activities.

The Student Advancement council is lead by the Advancement Vice President and oversees LDS Philanthropies, Mentoring, Networking, and Student Advancement

BYU-Idaho Student Alumni Association is making an extra effort to connect with our Ricks College/BYU-Idaho Alumni. The Student Alumni Vice President oversees Alumni relations, University Relations, Social networking, and the Historian.

Finally the SAA is divided into Student Activities. Here the Senior Vice President helps student directors in all Activities, Recruiting, the I-challenge, and the Student Legacy Endowment.

 

President of the Board of Directors

20 hours/week

The Managing Chairmen of the Board of Directors oversees and directs the Student Alumni Association. He also has the primary responsibility of supporting the Alumni Association in their goals and activities. 

 

The Student Alumni Association also supports the Student Legacy Endowment, which helps BYU-Idaho students who have unexpected financial challenges.
